In her memoir My Name Is Barbra, American singer Barbra Streisand recalled an interview with Princess of Wales Diana Spencer.
Barbra Streisand and Diana Spencer crossed paths. It was in February 1992 during a London premiere. The singer recalled this momentous meeting in the pages of her memoir, My Name Is Barbra Streisand, published November 7.
On this day, Barbra Streisand presented her film “The Prince of Tides”, which she directed and acted in. A royal guest then traveled to attend the evening event to raise funds for the fight against AIDS. Since the Princess of Wales was deeply committed to lifting the taboo surrounding this disease, it was only natural that she would attend this event.

Barbra Streisand remembered that evening when she was installed with Diana Spencer. To the applause of the audience, the singer waited for the princess to get up to do the same in turn. Determined to give the artist a standing ovation, Diana asked him to stand up on his own.

“The zipper on my skirt had come down a little while I was sitting, and she noticed and quickly zipped it up for me as I stood up,” Barbra Streisand writes in her book, People reveals.
“When I finally sat down, Diana turned to me and asked, ‘Do you know how wonderful you are?’ ” ” She remembered. “I certainly didn’t know it at the time. Do I know today? I’m not sure… Maybe a little. I thought Diana was wonderful. I wonder if she knew how wonderful she was,” she continued.

His meeting with Prince Charles
This is not the only crowned head mentioned in his memoirs. Also King Charles III. left a strong impression on the singer, as the Sun reports.
When she performed in London in 1994, the Prince of Wales visited her in her dressing room. The next day, she says, she received a bouquet of flowers from him: “It was simply signed “Charles.” And the flowers came from his garden! He wrote: “It was such a pleasure attending your concert last night – you were wonderful and I loved every minute of it! “Who knows?” she asked herself. “If I had been nicer to him, I could have been the first real Jewish princess!”
