Google only had the word “AI” in its mouth during its conference focused on the Pixel 8 series. One of the most important announcements: The multinational company introduced the Assistant with Bard functionality, which merges its chatbot with its voice assistant.
AI, AI, IA, generative AI, AI, AI… and more AI: If we were teasing, we could sum up the latest Google conference like this. On October 4, the multinational presented its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones and reserved a few minutes for Bard, its conversation agent (competitor of ChatGPT). Specifically, a new functionality has been made official: Assistant with Bard.
As you might imagine, Google’s idea is to merge its voice assistant with its chatbot. The goal? Demand more and more generative AI to carry out more or less tedious tasks and, above all, to achieve results very quickly. Assistant with Bard is rolling out to iOS and Android in the coming months, with a handful of people able to preview it as developers need feedback.

Assistant with Bard is an evolution of Google Assistant, as its goal is still to provide assistance and ultimately save the user time.
Google has provided several examples that certainly make you want to do this :
- Assistant with Bard can go very deep into your Gmail to display emails asking for important information that you may have missed;
- Assistant with Bard can quickly create a complete list of ingredients and dishes for a group of ten people – a task that normally takes time;
- Assistant with Bard can suggest the best route for a hike based on specific constraints (example: if I have a dog);
- Bard’s Assistant can create a beautiful RS post for you from the best photo of your kitten or puppy.
“You can interact with it via text, voice or images,” boasts Google. And because Assistant with Bard relies on perfect integration into the Android ecosystem (Gmail, Drive), it can actually draw on as many sources as possible to offer you the best help. When all the pieces of the puzzle fit together perfectly and the speed promised by Google is present, it is a very powerful tool. In terms of the interface, Assistant with Bard appears as an overlay so that we can keep an eye on the context of the request.
For Google, it is also about offering a new way of interacting with the smartphone, which serves as a link between humans and machines. Apparently, the security of personal data is already promised by the Mountain View company, as is the case with Assistant and Bard in detail.
