(Val-Brillant) Five people, including three children, were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on Sunday afternoon in Val-Brillant, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Route 132 near Rue des Cèdres.
A sedan with two children and a driver and a minivan with a child and an adult on board were involved in the head-to-head collision.
“The driver of one of the two vehicles, a sedan, would have gone off the lane and collided with another vehicle, a minivan,” said Camille Savoie, spokeswoman for the Surete du Québec (SQ).
The three small children were seriously injured and there are fears for their lives. Two of them were flown to a Montreal-area hospital, Savoie said.
Both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
An accident reconstruction specialist was on site to determine the causes and circumstances of this accident.
A section of Route 132 is closed to traffic and a detour has been put in place.
