Although Batman may not include the traditional post-credit scene, fans who want to know where a potential sequel might go should still pay attention.
Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Batman.
Loyal fans may be disappointed with the lack of a stage after the Batman credits, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a teaser for a potential sequel …
The audience that sits through Batman’s credits will eventually be greeted by a screen that simply reads, “Goodbye?” written in neon green. A series of mysterious images follow the words just before the URL is quickly displayed. When they join the search engine, fans are taken to what appears to be the Riddler website, where the manic serial killer offers three puzzles. If answered correctly, a password must be entered before a strange video can be released, which seemingly irritates the plot of the next Batman movie.

While Warner Bros. have not yet announced an official sequel to Batman, director Matt Reeves previously noted that he has already had discussions for a second film. “I really believe in what we did and I’ll be happy to tell more stories,” Reeves said. “We started talking about another movie, but, you know, right now we’re just going to release it and try to enjoy it.”
Although the official sequel is still on the air, fans can expect a lot more content for Batman in the form of two spin-off series on HBO Max. Reeves confirmed that one of the shows will focus on Oswald Cobblepot, also known as the Penguin, as he rises to power in Gotham’s meager underworld. Colin Farrell is ready to reprise his role as the iconic villain who also starred in Batman, albeit as a lower-level swindler who has not yet created his own mythology.

The other HBO Max series will feature Arkham Asylum. The only thing that is known about the project is that it is still in a very early stage of development and more news will probably be shared in the coming months.
Batman was greeted with a very positive reception by both fans and critics. Writing for CBR, Brandon Zachary says that Batman “feels like the only recent image of the hero that really explores what this concept means – not only for the Dark Knight, but for his world around him. Batman is sure to absorb new fans and it could be the dream version of a Batman movie for comic book fans. “
Batman is already in theaters.
