Laval University’s Rouge et Or and the University of Montreal’s Carabins will play in front of a sold-out crowd at PEPS on Sunday, as the two great rivals will face each other for the first time since the 2022 Dunsmore Cup, the result of which was in the final play of the Game known.
As of 1 p.m. today, there were only 400 tickets left that had not found a buyer, most of which were general admission tickets. With free admission for ages 12 and under, the Battle of Highway 20 will attract more than 18,000 people.
“Both teams are fortunate to play in front of such a large crowd,” said Rouge et Or head coach Glen Constantin. Fans are also excited to see two of Canada’s top four teams at work. »
The players are visibly excited. “There’s nothing better in Canada,” said receiver Édouard Arsenault. Occasionally there are more people at our games than at the Alouettes’ games. »
“Those are the parts I like the most and that’s why I chose Laval,” linebacker Charles-Alexandre Jacques added. The whole city is behind us and encouraging us. As a baby, I attended the Rouge et Or games in the arms of my father, who had had his season tickets for a very long time. »
On October 16, 18,173 spectators attended Rouge et Or’s 22-3 win against the Blues. A total of 12,375 fans passed through the turnstiles at the Dunsmore Cup on November 12th.
