Battle Rapper Pat Stay Dead at 36, Days after Droping the Game Diss Track: Report – HotNewHipHop

The rap titan’s friends have confirmed his tragic death after a night out in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Canadian battle rap star Pat Stay made headlines last month after he challenged The Game to a duel over his Eminem diss track ‘The Black Slim Shady,’ despite the Los Angeles artist blocking him rather than answering , the 36-year-old released a diss track of his own earlier this weekend, which he dubbed ‘Warm Up’.

However, a few days after the song’s initial release, the hip-hop legend was confirmed dead by several friends after a stabbing occurred early Sunday morning (September 4) in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

As reported by AllHipHop, local police were called to the shore around 12:30 am this morning after receiving a report of someone armed with a gun.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man with stab wounds. Although he was taken to the hospital for treatment, the victim eventually succumbed to his injuries.

While police have not confirmed the victim’s identity, sources close to Stay have confirmed he passed. An investigation is ongoing, but details about potential suspects remain under wraps at this time.

The battle rap community in particular has been hit hard by the news of Stay’s death, and we’ve seen hundreds of tributes on social media as more and more fans hear the heartbreaking news.

“‘I can walk on the moon in steel-toed boots.’ Rest in Peace Pat Stay,” acclaimed producer The Alchemist wrote on Twitter. “Battle rap icon and king. If [you] know me [you] I know I always thought he was the best. I’m injured.”

Another mourner wrote: “Definitely checked [people] close to the situation to feel safe enough to post this. RIP Pat Stay. Condolences to the family and other loved ones who are blessed to know him. The BRC will surely miss you.”
