BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were surprised on Saturday morning when a cheeky guest jumped into their laps.

During the show, Naga and Charlie were joined by Vicky Etherington from Apollo’s Angels and a dog named Hugo.

But when they sat down to talk to Vicky about adopting pooches, Hugo seemed to have had other ideas.

As Naga slapped him, he took the opportunity to jump over her knee and sit between her and Charlie.

“Please, he goes his own way!” Charlie exclaimed.

One fan shared, “@TVNaga01 I just saw Hugo the dog and he put a smile on my face.” He clearly liked you and as he climbed over you to get to Charlie too, I ahhhhhh and smiled even wider.

“He seemed so comfortable sitting with the two of you. Thank you all for a great start to the day. Caz x’.

This comes after BBC Breakfast star Emma Vardy left the show on Friday to go on maternity leave and was inundated with messages of support as she shared a farewell post on Instagram.
