lolo Williams is set to return for the new series of Winterwatch after suffering a heart attack last year.

The 61-year-old presenter will join Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan at RSPB Arne in Dorset for the first time since 2017 to film the wildlife show.

Lolo, who has stepped away from his filming duties on the nature TV show due to the health crisis, will film four nights of live shows capturing nature.

Meanwhile, Gillian Burke visited Scotland's Orkney Islands to collect more footage for the series, which airs on January 16th.

Viewers can expect to see eagles, ravens, badgers and foxes from the crew's hidden cameras at both locations.

Michaela said: “The theme of Winterwatch is resilience and renewal – only the tough survive and spring brings warmth and renewal.”

“Last year was a tough year for people. “So Winterwatch will bring some joy.”

It comes after Iolo opened up about the horrific mile-and-a-half walk he had to make back to his car and his phone after suffering a heart attack in the middle of the country.

The presenter became ill and suffered from chest pains while traveling alone with no one around to help him.

Iolo said he returned to his vehicle and took breaks when the pain became too much before calling emergency services upon arrival.

He told the Mirror: “It came like a bolt from the blue.” I knew what it was – severe pain under my breastbone. It was a heart attack. And I thought well, I can't go down here!

“So I kept walking, squatting a little every now and then when the pain got a little worse.

“I went to my car, called an ambulance and they said it would take about 90 minutes.”

Iolo withdrew from filming for a nature TV show after suffering an “unexpected” heart attack and suffering serious complications following his operation to insert a stent into an artery

“So my wife Ceri came over, drove me to hospital and from then on I was in the hands of the NHS. 'They were great.'

In October, it was reported that Iolo stepped away from his duties filming a nature TV show after suffering an “unexpected” heart attack.

He suffered serious complications after surgery to insert a stent into an artery.

The treatment involves inserting a short wire mesh tube called a stent, which acts like a scaffold to widen and open narrowed or blocked arteries that supply the heart muscle.

According to the NHS, the procedure carries risks including artery damage, allergic reactions and excessive bleeding.
