A motorcyclist died after attempting to attack a driver, believed to be intoxicated, who had just hit him Tuesday morning in Sorel-Tracy, Montérégie.
At around 9 a.m., the motorcyclist, in his 40s, was hit by a van on Marie-Victorin Street. According to our information, the driver of the van literally “pushed” the rear of the motorcycle a distance of about 100 meters.
At one point, the motorcyclist fell to the ground before quickly getting up to attack the van driver.
The two men would have spat violently. During the verbal exchange, realizing the driver was trying to flee, the motorcyclist could have grabbed the van.

When the vehicle drove away from the scene with a bang, it hit a power pole and the motorcyclist fell heavily to the ground.
Some witnesses say he walked under the wheels of the van, but the Surete du Québec (SQ) did not confirm this information.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead a short time later.
