The fire brigade was called to the scene of the accident around 1:30 p.m. because of smoke rising from the windows on the first floor. Fortunately, no one was at the property at the time of the incident.

A total of 35 firefighters were involved in extinguishing, propagation detection and ventilation work.

The residents of the only occupied accommodation were looked after by the Red Cross as the building could not be re-integrated due to the damage caused by the flames.

Avenue Royale was also closed in both directions for the duration of the intervention.

The fire brigade was still on site in the late afternoon to determine the cause of the fire, which was probably an accident.
