By imposing a one-game suspension on Friday, the Manfred Circuit sent a clear message to New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
The Bronx Bombers pilot’s fiery personality hasn’t been known to anyone since he took office in 2018.
On Thursday, during a game against the Baltimore Orioles, he was ruled out of a game for the fourth time of the season and the second time in just four days.
It was his 30th disqualification in five years, more than any manager in Major League Baseball. The circuit therefore warned him and forced him to watch the Yankees’ game against the San Diego Padres on Friday.
According to Boone, his strained relationship with officers doesn’t hurt his squad.
“I think the officials wipe the record after every game,” he said, according to ESPN. But their judgment can sometimes be biased. We’re human and I’m sure some people don’t like to hear me talk.”
The Yankees have been rebounding for the past few days, winning seven of their last 10 games. They rank third in the very tough East Section of the Americans, which includes the Toronto Blue Jays (5th) and the Tampa Bay Rays (1st).
