“Please take a moment to stop and appreciate what Timothée Chalamet is doing for people,” one of his fans tweeted, among thousands of comments immediately after the performance. A small step for the actor, a giant leap for future humanity. The back is a same symbol and allows you to play seduction in a new way. An equally masculine and feminine seduction, that has both. That too is a contemporary attitude.

Perhaps thanks to Timothée Chalamet and his stylistic choices, we are witnessing a new phase of that nude look that, between 1966 and 1968, through Yves Saint Laurent and other enlightened designers, revolutionized the shaping of the female body in the eyes of the millennium invests the male universe. A nude look that’s becoming the new look that’s coming back the body in the foreground also in the sartorial universe masculine: Freed from the snare of feminine tradition, the skirts bare the legs, the jackets become increasingly genderless, the B-side begins to be ostentatious (see Damiano from Måneskin) and to break out of taboo. And now the back, highlighted by an outfit framing it, also leads forward a freer experience of one’s own form.
Today’s man speaks of a new force that displays physical charms as the conscience trail of his aesthetic experiments, something that doesn’t want to compromise his masculinity, as many willing to wrinkle their noses and point the fingers argue. There male is everything, as everything is female.
So we’re wondering if Dune’s protagonist, with his backless outfit, managed to end the diatribe in Venice must show and see which, in fact, by human inclination, belongs to both sexes. Surely another stereotype, gentlemen, it broke. Whether the shards will finally be wiped out by younger generations remains to be seen. Eyes wide open, the revolution continues. In the meantime, please don’t just call it fashion.
