The two writers have been repeating for months to anyone who will listen that they are working on the intrigue of the second season. The 10 new episodes will bring back to ICI Télé the characters played by Éric Bruneau (also the creator of the series with Catherine Léger), Benoit Drouin-Germain, Émile Proulx-Cloutier, Mani Soleymanlou and Karine Vanasse. Kim Lévesque-Lizotte had also confirmed to the QMI agency the return of Marie-France Marcotte, who plays the intriguing and manipulative Dominique, a character that left its mark on viewers.
The same team will also be back behind the camera, namely director Stéphane Lapointe and producer Sophie Deschênes from Sovimage.
“I’m very anxious to bring you this new season in which everyone will be fully reconstructed, but the arrival of new characters will weaken the balance they will try to achieve,” Ms. Deschênes said in a press release.
Here is the Season 2 synopsis: “While Evelyne (Karine Vanasse) and François (Émile Proulx-Cloutier) are in the midst of a tumultuous divorce, Vincent (Benoit Drouin-Germain) has disappeared and Patrick (Mani Soleymanou) and Marie-Michèle ( Myriam Fournier) struggles to get a new family model up and running, Marc-André (Éric Bruneau) seems to be the one who recovered best from the crash. With Dominique (Marie-France Marcotte) and François out of hand, Evelyne and Marc-André now form the winning team at Olstrom, to the delight of Taschenreau (Pier Paquette). But how long?
“Before the Crash” was ranked among the best productions of 2022 by several media outlets alongside “The Night Laurier Gaudreault Woke Up” (Club illico) and “Chouchou” (Noovo).
Unanimously acclaimed by critics and even qualifying as a fall 2022 television reveal, Before the Crash is a beautifully written, interpreted and directed series that plunges us to the heart of the issues of our time. We can’t wait to bring you the rest,” Radio-Canada Television general manager Dany Meloul said in a press release.
