Following Tuesday’s Montreal Canadiens game against the Flyers in Philadelphia, some members of the media caught up with hockey vice president Jeff Gorton and gave an update on forwards Cole Caufield and Sean Farrell.

Referring to the contract negotiations with Caufield, Gorton indicated that everything had gone well and he was confident the file would continue to move forward, with a chuckle.
The 22-year-old American will be a restricted free agent on July 1 unless he agrees with the Habs by then.

In Farrell’s case, he said he had to face the Flyers despite never training with his new teammates, allowing him to catch his first game in the National Hockey League in front of his family.
Jeff Gorton told us that the main reason Farrell played today was mainly because he could play his first game here in front of his family.

In his first game, Farrell was finally on the ice at 1:03 p.m. and scored zero.
