Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the new HBO series The Last of Us, broke into Game of Thrones as Lyanna Mormont, the combative leader of Bear Island. Lyanna met her end in the show’s final season when she was killed by a zombie giant that she was able to take with her.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Ramsey recalled filming that scene. “I enjoyed it! I had a wonderful time,” she said. “There’s like a giant robotic claw and a green screen. It’s programmed to shake me around. I was about 20 feet in the air, they had to give me that.” Squirting blood, so I did it myself.
Bella Ramsey thought the Game of Thrones series finale was ‘okay’
Ramsey was 11 when she first appeared on Game of Thrones and had never heard of the show before she was cast. Pedro Pascal, Ramsey’s co-star in The Last of Us, also appeared on Game of Thrones as the dashing Dornishman Oberyn Martell. His character also died brutally a few seasons before Lyanna Mormont was introduced.
Despite only appearing in three seasons of Game of Thrones, Ramsey said fans are reaching out to her asking her opinion on the controversial series finale. “People like to ask me what I think of the ending, and I like to say, ‘What did you think of it,'” Ramsey said. “I saw it, but I didn’t see the rest of the show. The general consensus is that it wasn’t great, but it seemed ok to me!”
