Around the time Ben Affleck and his first wife, Jennifer Garner, split in 2018, he was spending a handsome $19 million on a then-brand-new traditional East Coast mansion, tucked behind gates on more than half an acre across The posh Pacific Palisades is located in LA’s swanky Riviera Country Club.

Now that he’s married to former fiancee Jennifer Lopez, to whom he was engaged 20 years ago, and they’re looking for $50 million homes to house their combined families — Affleck has two kids with Garner and Lopez has twins with Marc Anthony, the The two-time Oscar-winning movie star, screenwriter, producer and tabloid has put his PacPal bachelor pad on the open market for just under $30 million.

Obscured by a row of small trees planted amid carefully sculpted shrubs, the mansion’s stately columned porch with black white brick shutters gives way to 13,500 square feet of A-lister living space; A sweeping staircase enhances the foyer, the dining room features marketing materials dubbed “statement chandeliers,” and the gourmet kitchen features on-trend blue cabinets.

A second family room is cloaked in wallpaper, while a home office has an entire wall of built-ins. Other highlights include a custom-designed walk-in closet in the master suite, a spa room and home cinema, and a converted basement that includes a lounge, air-conditioned wine cellar, and gym.

A glass wall in the family room opens onto a covered dining and lounge terrace luxuriously appointed with overhead heaters, a fireplace and a flat screen TV. Surrounded by trees that obliterate neighboring homes, the pancake backyard has plenty of room to spread out. In addition to a lawn area lined with box trees and a swimming pool with a slide, there is an outdoor kitchen and a raised bed garden for growing herbs and vegetables. The poolside guest house has a kitchenette and a bathroom with an exterior entrance.

Of course, Affleck and Lopez need another home just like an eel needs a hot air balloon, and without question, all of their many homes would easily fit into their newly assembled family. Affleck’s possessions include an 87-acre property near Savannah, Georgia, which he purchased back in 2003 — when he and Lopez first met and became engaged — and has tried unsuccessfully to sell it multiple times, most recently in 2020 for 7, $6 million. And Lopez’s bulging portfolio includes, but isn’t limited to, an eight-acre Bel Air property purchased in 2016 for $28 million from Sela Ward, an 8-bedroom mansion in the Water Mill neighborhood of the Hamptons and a massive New York City penthouse she bought in 2014 for $20.2 million and has been on and off the market since 2017, most recently last fall for $25 million.
