Ben and Jerry investigate after a manager in San Francisco was accused of pouring a bucket of water on a mentally ill homeless woman because she was crying on the sidewalk outside the store.
Footage taken after the alleged incident and posted to TikTok shows a man lying on the ground surrounded by what appears to be water outside Ben and Jerry’s in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.
“All her clothes and blankets got wet,” the caption says, which claims the video was filmed around 11 p.m. Monday.
Ben and Jerry told MailOnline: “This looks terrible and we immediately contacted the independent owner of this store, who is looking into the circumstances of the incident and what actions will be taken to eliminate those responsible.”

John Slater, the site’s franchisee, told the Daily Dot that he is “investigating the incident outside of our scoop store for full understanding.”
He said the store would be “diligent in the process” and added that the accusations “should not be taken as a belief of Ben & Jerry as an independent franchise.”
He added: “We are addressing the issue immediately and will take prompt and appropriate action.”
TikTok user Natasha reported on Thursday that she saw the manager still working at the store.
Ben and Jerry’s (pictured is the company’s ice cream products) did not respond to the TikTok post, but later said they were “investigating the incident outside of our scoop store for full understanding.”
She posted a video of a man lying on the ground surrounded by what appears to be water with a liquid trail that appears to run from the steps to the ice cream shop window.
She claimed the footage was taken after a manager poured a bucket of water on the homeless woman because she was “crying in pain on the sidewalk.”
The footage then shows a man inside the store quickly turning off the lights.
Several commentators took note of Ben and Jerry, urging the company to hold the manager accountable for the alleged incident.
“So you guys train your employees to deal with the homeless?” wrote one user, noting the American ice cream company.
“I know you all won’t get over it, I’ve been to this store too,” wrote another.
Others simply urged Ben and Jerry to watch the tape, but some doubted the allegations and urged people to wait for an investigation before jumping to conclusions.
“Let’s jump to conclusions without seeing the whole story,” wrote one.
Others were convinced that Ben and Jerry would “go mad when they found out about this.”
Complain to the corporation. They are good company and will hate it,” said another.
