Benedict Cumberbatch breaks his silence to defend his latest film, dog power.
Recently, Sam Elliott criticized the director’s Netflix film Jane Championcalling it “a piece of shit”.
In a new interview from the BAFTA Film sessions, Benedict responded to Samharsh criticism of the film.

“I’m trying very hard not to say anything about a very strange reaction that happened the other day on a radio podcast here,” Benedict began, according to Digital Spy.
“Not wanting to stir up the ashes of that […] someone was really offended – I didn’t hear this, so it’s unfair for me to comment on it in detail – that the West is portrayed in this way, ” Benedict continuation. “These people still exist in our world. Whether it’s on our doorstep or in the future, or someone we meet in a bar or pub or on a sports field, there is aggression, anger, frustration and an inability to control or know who you are in that moment that causes damage to that. person and, as we know, damage to others.
He added, “There’s nothing wrong with looking at a character to understand the underlying reasons behind it. This is a very specific case of repression, but also of intolerance for the true identity that Phil is, which he cannot be in full. The more we look under the hood of toxic masculinity and try to uncover its root causes, the more likely we are to deal with it when it occurs in our children.”
Dog Power was nominated for 12 Oscars, including Best Picture.
