Morgan, a fourth-year player from Nebraska, was originally an undrafted free agent who signed with the Bengals in 2019. As a rookie, Morgan eventually cracked a 53-man squad and played in 11 games as a key special teams member. He spent most of 2020 on the practice team, but also competed in six competitions this season.
In 2021, Morgan made the original roster and played in all 17 games. His role in special teams has continued throughout his three-year career and should continue now that he has some contract stability.
Morgan entered this offseason as a restricted free agent. The Bengals refused to put him up for auction, allowing Morgan free rein last Wednesday. It seemed unlikely that the Bengals would let him go, and signing him to a two-year deal would likely lower his salary cap this year.
According to Pro Football Network insider Aaron Wilson, Morgan prioritized a return to Cincinnati and was rewarded with bonuses to his paycheck.
The Bengals have re-signed Stanley Morgan Jr. to a two-year deal that includes a signing and practice bonus, according to a league source. Morgan has prioritized staying with the Bengals and it’s exciting for him to be on a team that reached the Super Bowl last season.

Cincinnati appears to be returning with the same host corps they did last year as Morgan re-joins Trent Taylor, Mike Thomas and Trenton Irwin, who were all re-signed this offseason. Since three of these receivers are signed for one year, don’t be surprised to see a receiver being selected sometime during the upcoming NFL Draft.
