Before the Ramstein Group meeting, Germany promised more arms deliveries to Ukraine. This is mainly anti-aircraft defense. The tanks and ammunition already promised will also be delivered in the coming weeks.

Germany will provide Ukraine with another billion-dollar military support package. “With this new ‘winter package’ we are further increasing the operational readiness of the Ukrainian armed forces in the coming months,” said Defense Minister Boris Pistorius ahead of tomorrow’s meeting of the so-called Ramstein format.

The package therefore includes additional anti-aircraft systems, including a Patriot system, IRIS-T systems and Gepard anti-aircraft tanks. “This air defense package is worth around a billion euros,” said the SPD politician. In addition, vehicles, weapons and personal equipment worth more than 20 million euros would be delivered.

Last week, Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised Ukrainian President Zelensky a second Patriot system. According to current information, this will be delivered from Bundeswehr stocks and, in addition to the fire control center and the radar device, includes another eight launch devices and probably more than 60 guided missiles.

According to other information, Berlin plans to deliver two more IRIS-T systems to Kiev in October – one for medium-range guided missiles and the other for short-range guided missiles, also with guided missiles.

According to the Ministry, Germany is currently supplying additional ammunition to Ukraine. In the coming weeks, ten more Leopard 1A5 battle tanks, three Gepard and almost 20 protected medical vehicles are scheduled to arrive in Ukraine.
