Motorsport tycoon Bernie Ecclestone’s passion for speed appears to have been passed down to his two-year-old son Ace, who beamed with delight as he hit the ski slopes for the first time.

The youngster completed his first ski course in Gstaad, Switzerland, supervised by his father and mother Fabiana Flosi, 46.

Brazilian Fabiana looked nervous but Ecclestone, 92, grinned as Ace was led down the slope by an instructor using a float to keep the boy upright.

Ecclestone’s daughters Tamara, 38, and Petra, 34, also joined in the family fun, with Tamara snapping a photo of her youngest daughter Serena, two, in a red snowsuit.

Ecclestone, who has an estimated fortune of £3bn, was Formula 1’s chief executive until 2017.

He lives in a £23million chalet called Le Lion in the exclusive resort of Gstaad, which neighbors Italian fashion designer Valentino. Ecclestone and Fabiana married in a private ceremony at the property in 2012.

He also owns a nearby mountain, Glacier 3000. Tamara revealed on her reality TV show that her father made the extravagant purchase simply because “he liked it.”

The British businessman, who also owns Hotel Olden in Gstaad, looked relaxed as he enjoyed watching his family on the slopes. But later this year he is due to stand trial accused of hiding more than £400million in taxes.

Ecclestone has pleaded not guilty to a fraud charge brought after an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs. The trial is scheduled to take place at Southwark Crown Court.
