To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Rotten Tomatoes listed 64 directors who began their careers 25 years ago, in 1998. To qualify, each director had to have released a first feature film in 1998 (or later) and directed at least three films.

Several filmmakers have dropped out of the race in recent weeks. Among them we mention Damien Chazelle (Whiplash, La La Land, Babylon), Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition), Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel, 21 Grams) or Bong Joon-ho (Parasite, Memories of Murder) . ). Competitors included Jason Reitman, Sofia Coppola, and several other directors.

After a heated battle, Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Dune) and Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, Dunkirk, Inception, The Dark Knight) eclipsed all of their opponents. You are therefore in a final face-to-face duel. It’s the public that decides. You have until August 29 at 10 a.m. to vote.
