Pierre Turgeon has a head full of memories. But some stand out more. The final games of the Forum and the opening of what was then the Molson Center were among the great moments of his sporting career.

“If we say that you have to be in the right place at the right time in life, these two events are great proof,” Turgeon continues.
“I was also captain of the Canadian. It’s the kind of event you won’t forget. The highlight of the celebrations was the ovation for Maurice Richard.
“It took seven minutes! He was so touched that there were tears in his eyes. It’s unforgettable!”
His speech is finished
Turgeon expects his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame will be just as emotional for him and his family.
“My speech was finished a long time ago. “I didn’t want to wait until the last minute,” he says.
“The only thing is that we have a speaking time and I don’t want to forget anyone when I thank them. If you have played for six teams, you will want to mention the names of the people who have helped and touched you throughout the years.
Several former customers of Jandec, founded by Pierre Lacroix and continued by Robert Sauvé, will be there to share Turgeon’s joy. His older brother Sylvain will be coming from Calgary, where he has lived for several years.
Michel Goulet, Denis Savard, Jacques Cloutier and Raymond Bourque, among others, have confirmed their presence. Donald Audette, who played with Turgeon in Buffalo, will also take part in the gala celebrations.
The emotions won’t stop there for Turgeon and his family. The day after his induction, the Canadian will unveil Pierre’s photo in his presence in the Ring of Honor around the Bell Centre.
The Wizard of Rouyn deserves a nice ovation.
