GianBelmondo, a stage name that evoked a little the charm of the well-known French actor, was really a little star of our house, whom Trani loved and loved for decades.
The voice, a little reminiscent of Frank Sinatra’s timbre and which works between the Jean Paul from across the Alps and a little Elvis Presley, especially in eccentric clothes, had made him a musically famous figure in the sixties and seventies also performed at the Piper in Rome and on TV in Pippo Baudo’s “Settevoci”.
In the 1980s, his musical passion was joined by that of astrology, which he shared for 15 years on Teleregione in “astromagically together”, just before the phenomenon that only made its way onto national television in recent years: with him became the astrology for direct contact with the audience, but also entertainment, and that’s a record one really likes to give him credit for.
For the charm of a classic Latino, Gino Palumbo – that was his real name – was also a star of photo novels and a real idol among female audiences: but also in old age (until recently he was seen for the city), with this presence and that smile, always ready to give, and that act of a true gentleman of the past, one could not help but notice him with admiration and perhaps welcome him as one of us. It really is like a piece of our city that we will continue to love.
