The publicist for the Simply the Best singer announced her death on Wednesday (May 24, 2023), revealing that the artist had died at her home in Zurich, Switzerland, at the age of 83 of complications from a “long illness”.
In response to the news, Beyoncé wrote on her website: “My beloved Queen. I love you endlessly. I am so grateful for your inspiration and all the possibilities you have opened up. You are strength and resilience. You are the embodiment of power and passion. We are all fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and wonderful spirit which will live in our memories forever. Thank you for everything you have done.”
Diana Ross told her Twitter followers she was “shocked” and “sad” by the death of Tina Turner. “My condolences to the family and loved ones of Tina Turner,” she added.
Elton John shared a photo of himself and the singer on Instagram with the words: “We have lost one of the most exciting and electrifying artists on earth.” A true legend on record and on stage. She was untouchable.
