“More than 140 police officers were injured on January 6th. I’ve said it before: how dare anyone downplay or deny the hell he’s been through?” the US President tweeted, showing his support for the Capitol Police.
The Democrat rebounded from a tweet citing a letter from Capitol Police Chief Bryan Manger in which he accused Fox News host Tucker Carlson of making “hurting and misleading conclusions” about the Jan. 6, 2021 attack to have pulled his show.
“I hope House Republicans are ashamed of what has been done to undermine our law enforcement,” Joe Biden tweeted.
Host Tucker Carlson, one of the main characters of the Conservatives’ favorite channel in the United States, had been granted exclusive access by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to broadcast images of the attack on the Capitol, which showed a large majority of peaceful people opposing a ” small “percentage” of vandals.
The Republican tenor’s decision, which he says was made in the name of transparency, drew strong criticism, mostly from Democrats.
For his part, in his own camp, Senate Republican leader the influential Mitch McConnell felt that Fox News made a “mistake” in showing the attack on the Capitol “in a way that is vastly different from what it was.” The Capitol’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer thinks,” citing Mr. Manger’s letter.
