Biden continues to rule out delivery of US fighter jets

US President Joe Biden has ruled out delivering F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine at this time. Regarding the demands of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Biden said yesterday in an interview with the American television network ABC: “He doesn’t need an F-16 now.” planes available.

But it is not possible to know what will be needed in one, two or three years, the president replied when asked if he ruled out the delivery of fighter jets for the future. “I’m ruling that out for now,” Biden said.

Earlier, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said the fighter jets were not a “key capability” for Ukraine’s current needs. Biden and Zelenskyy exchanged views on this, Sullivan said.

Against China in the negotiations

When asked by reporters about such conversations between him and Zelenskyy, Biden only replied, according to journalists from the White House press office, that they were private conversations.

Biden doesn’t think it’s rational for China to get involved in negotiations on the outcome of the war in Ukraine. Speaking of the peace plan presented by Beijing, he said: “The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, applauds you, how can it be good?” If China’s plan were implemented, it would benefit no one but Russia.
