Biden promotes new infrastructure law in several US states

During the visit to Baltimore, the President will address the use of funds from the legislature to replace the 150-year-old Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel.

Meanwhile in New York, he will point to the rebuilding of the Hudson River Tunnel, which “will improve the reliability of Amtrak and New Jersey Transit’s 200,000 passenger trips per weekday,” the White House added.

“Both projects will create well-paying jobs and union jobs, reduce travel times and improve safety,” spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said.

He added that thanks to the legislation’s development funds, thousands of other projects are being implemented across the country.

Biden signed the infrastructure bill into law last November, and under his wing the United States’ highways, bridges and railroad tracks are being rebuilt.

It will also expand access to clean water, promote environmental justice and invest in communities that have all too often been neglected, according to the Oval Office’s website.

The legislation will help ease inflationary pressures and strengthen supply chains by making overdue improvements to ports, airports, railways and highways.

Likewise, it is estimated that it will create an average of 1.5 million jobs per year over the next decade.
