Biden’s overall approval rating fell to 40 percent in the poll, which found 55 percent of respondents disagreed with his performance as president.
In a January NBC News poll, Biden’s job approval rating was 43 percent, while 54 percent disapproved of his performance.
Seven in 10 Americans polled in the new poll expressed low confidence in Biden’s ability to manage the ongoing conflict between Russia, Ukraine and other Western nations, the poll found, and 8 in 10 fear the tensions will lead to higher gas prices for Americans and Americans Americans will wage nuclear war.
The same poll found that Republicans had a 2-point lead when asked which party should control Congress after the midterm elections in November this year.
The poll follows Biden’s emergency trip to Europe to meet with world leaders over the escalating conflict in Ukraine.
“This war is not worthy of you, Russian people. Putin can and must end this war. The poll was conducted March 18-22 among 1,000 adults and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
