Big Brother viewers were left fuming when they found out the start of the brand new series on Sunday was actually pre-recorded.
The iconic reality show’s original broadcast always featured a live opening as contestants entered the famous house. However, ITV decided to film their first episode 24 hours earlier.
Hosts AJ Odudu, 35, and Will Best, 38, introduced audiences to 16 new housemates as the series made its epic return to television following its cancellation in 2018.
But on

A second wrote: “The fake looking house, the lack of a walkway, it’s not busy, the hustle and bustle and no Davina, it just feels like a Tesco Value version of Big Brother.”
Someone else said: “I can’t believe Big Brother isn’t live… that’s the best part.”
And: “So the launch show was recorded last night?” The whole point of the Big Brother launch show was all the hype at the beginning with the LIVE launch show. Pooh’.
Another said: “This pre-recorded live show (recorded last night) doesn’t have the same vibe, does it?”
A sixth commented: “Bruh. Even Big Brother’s voice is pre-recorded. This all feels so contrived.
And a seventh fumed: “It’s not quite the same, watching it pre-recorded brings Big Brother back live 24/7.”
While other fans loved the new arrangement, one wrote: “I’m not going to lie, I missed Big Brother!”
And a second said: “I love this Big Brother already.”

New presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best opened the launch show on ITV after the reality show was canceled by Channel 5 in 2018, introducing a new group of 16 contestants to a studio audience.
But when a barman, a butcher and a Muslim make-up artist entered the house, fans accused the show of being “woke”.

Jenkin, 25, from Bridgend in Wales, was the first housemate to enter.
He said: “I’m not the only gay in the village, I’m the best… I’m the barman, the cleaner, I’m the bingo caller and 69 is my favorite number.”
He added: “I can’t help being a bit of an instigator. ‘I’ll bring the drama.’
On why he applied for the show, he said: “I was bored and thought I’d do something different and try it out.”
And on what he’s most looking forward to about attending, he said, “I think meeting new people.” I’m looking forward to it, but I’m also scared about it because I’m like, “Oh, what’s going to happen next?” …” but everything will be fine.”
On why he is most likely to be nominated, he said: “If I’m just talking about people, I’m not going to lie. ‘I can’t keep secrets, I find it really hard.’
