Big Ten Tournament 2022 bracket, schedule: Indiana and Iowa live updates, college basketball results

The Big Ten tournament was full of surprises in the second round of play on Thursday, but on Friday it really delivered drama in the quarterfinal round of play. Three games ended in losses due to seeding, and another, Purdue’s victory over Penn State, ended in the final minutes before the No. 3 seeded Boilermakers advanced to the semi-finals.

Of the surprises—and there were many—none was as unpredictable as Friday’s first game, when the 9th seed and Indiana on the bubble could make it to the NCAA Tournament Field with a 65-63 win. above the No. 1 crop in Illinois. IU star Trace Jackson-Davies continued his strong week with 21 points and seven boards in the win, passing his fellow big ten player Kofi Cockburn after battling him early in the season.

Elsewhere in the draw, No. 2 seed and Big Ten regular season champion Wisconsin also crashed out of the conference tournament early, losing 69-63 to Michigan State. With Johnny Davis still recovering, the Badgers didn’t have the firepower to match MSU and Davis struggled uncharacteristically, shooting 3-for-19 from the floor. The loss marked the first time that the top two seeds in a Big Ten Tournament were eliminated from a quarter.
