In December 2020, just after Biden won the presidency, it was revealed that federal investigators were investigating his son’s overseas business dealings and whether he was guilty of tax fraud.
Trump and his Republican allies in Congress called in a special adviser to investigate, but Barr came up with the idea at a news conference just days before he left Trump’s Justice Department in late December.
