The singer recently came out in an interview, apparently without realizing it
In November, famous American singer Billie Eilish said during an interview with Variety magazine that she was attracted to women. It was the first time that the singer declared that she was not heterosexual, and in fact it was a coming out. Eilish spoke briefly about it in the interview and didn’t delve into the matter any further. She spoke about it again during an event again organized by Variety on December 2nd where she said:
I didn’t know that people didn’t know.
Eilish also said that she thought it was obvious and that she “didn’t believe in the concept of coming out – that is, publicly declaring one’s sexual orientation – as “I’ve been like that for a long time, even though I never have talked about.
Celebrities coming out are often carefully planned; Eilish, on the other hand, seems to have done it almost without realizing it: She said that after publishing the interview she thought, “Oh, I guess I came out today.” There has been speculation about the singer’s sexual orientation in the past , which, however, never confirmed this.
In the November interview, Eilish, 21, explained her difficulties socializing with other women, saying she was intimidated by them because she loved them “so much”: “I love them as people. I am attracted to them as people. I’m seriously attracted to it.
