The daughter of billionaire grocery chain owner John Catsimatidis is now dating reality TV personality Prince Mario-Max zu Schaumburg-Lippe, who is accused of using his fake connections to flog an “elixir of wealth.”
The “Prince,” who claims to have aristocratic ties to the royal families of Germany and Denmark, has appeared on various television shows including “Big Brother” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” although his title has been the subject of heated debate.
Catsimatidis and Mario-Max met in September 2023 at the opening of the Rampoldi restaurant on Manhattan's Upper West Side, and romance blossomed from there.
Catsimatidis, 33, chairwoman of the Manhattan Republican Party, was previously married for three years to Christopher Nixon Cox, the grandson of former President Richard Nixon. The couple, who married in 2011, divorced in 2014.

But her relationship with Mario-Max, who is 14 years her senior, has attracted attention after the couple posted loved-up photos and videos of themselves on a Valentine's Day trip to Paris before heading off for a Florida beach holiday in posh Palm Beach.

46-year-old Mario-Max, dubbed the “King of Trash TV” by the German press, has long claimed to have royal connections and is said to have been adopted into the Schaumburg-Lippe family at the age of 24 and later assumed his royal title.

Mario-Max is a regular visitor to America, where he has posed for photos with celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Liza Minnelli and Ivana Trump at parties and red carpet events. However, controversy recently arose when he took a selfie with Prince Harry during an event last month in Los Angeles.
This led to the head of the royal household, Prince Alexander von Schaumburg-Lippe, accusing Mario-Max of “using our name for personal gain” and warning Prince Harry to “stay away from this man.”

Critics, including Prince Harry's biographer, have questioned the prince's credibility and suggested his reality TV background could threaten the legitimacy of his claims.
But despite all his riches, there doesn't seem to be any depths that Mario-Max won't sink to for the sake of pure publicity or for a few more followers on his social media accounts.

Marios-Max also made guest appearances on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” when he dated one of the stars, and on “Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker” when he went looking for a wife in Iowa.
His representatives have defended the use of his royal title, stressing that the prince and Catsimatidis would also inherit royal titles should they have children.
Mario-Max's website boasts of family connections going back to William of Orange, which would make him a very, very distant cousin of the British royals including Harry.
He even posted his birth certificate online to support his claim that he was the son of a prince and princess with ties to royalty in Germany and Denmark.
The “Prince” also presents a royal show called “Astro Royal” from Berlin, which is broadcast on cable, satellite and web TV. He also states on his Instagram profile that he is a journalist.
