The mother of soap star Billy Miller, who died on Friday aged 43, released a statement thanking fans and explaining how her son “fought a long, hard and brave battle with bipolar depression ” have.
Patricia Miller said of X that her son “loved his friends, his family and his fans, but in the end the disease won the battle and he gave up his life.”
Miller was a three-time Daytime Emmy winner and known for his roles on “The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital.” He would have celebrated his 44th birthday on Sunday.
The outpouring of support from colleagues and fans has been a constant at X over the last 24 hours, with many posting pictures and videos from his time on the daytime dramas. Although Miller is best known for his soap roles, he also played Marcus Specter – Harvey’s younger brother – on Suits for several seasons.
“Very sad news for the entire Suits family,” Suits creator Aaron Korsh wrote on X. “Billy Miller has passed away. I flew home with Billy once. We had a great time and bonded throughout the five hour flight that seemed to be over in just a few minutes. A funny, smart, kind, gentle man.”
