Bindi Irwin shares sweet photos with husband Chandler Powell and family as they rescue an orphaned baby kangaroo over Christmas – and give the boy a surprising name
Bindi Irwin and her husband rescued a baby kangaroo.
The wildlife warrior and her husband and Chandler Powell posed next to the joey in an Instagram post on Friday, revealing that the animal was named after Chandler.
“Meet Chandler, the orphaned gray kangaroo,” the 24-year-old wrote in her caption.

“Chandler, who fought back after getting caught in a fence, suffered trauma to his head and legs,” she continued.
“This sweetheart needed forehead drainage due to the injuries and multiple stitches. Hugely grateful for our exceptional #AustraliaZooWildlifeHospital team.
“They have poured endless love and care into Chandler’s recovery with the hope that one day this roo can be released back into the wild.

It comes after rumors circulated that Bindi and Chandler will soon announce they are expecting baby number two.

Fans pointed out that Bindi hid her belly behind a strategically placed birthday cake in photos taken on Chandler’s birthday last month.
Sources close to the couple have claimed the lovebirds will announce the big news “any day now.”
Woman’s Day claim the conservationist duo were waiting for Chandler’s US-based parents, Chris and Shanna, to arrive in Australia for his birthday to break the good news to them first.
