Blac Chyna’s attorney accuses Kardashians of ‘gaslighting’ in closing arguments

Blac Chyna’s attorney accused the Kardashian-Jenner family of “pressuring” the jury as they took a stand for the past week and a half.

In her closing argument, Lynne Ciani urged the jury to “use their common sense” and to recognize that the defendants – Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian – were “gaslighting” as they discussed the alleged details of the attack on September 1, 2019 Testified against Chyna’s ex Rob Kardashian in December 2016.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation that causes one to question their own sanity.

She argued that while Rob and Chyna’s fight took place, it was not a “homicidal attack,” as Kris testified earlier this week. Ciani said Rob, 35, testified that there were no marks on his body and that his claim his life was threatened was not credible.

“Let’s forget that this is a famous family,” Ciani told jurors. “For someone to claim that his fiancée hit him with a metal rod… but there were no marks on his body… no calls to the police, not even a band-aid… that person is not credible.”

Ciani also claimed that evidence presented during the trial showed Kris’ messages to the Rob & Chyna showrunner slandered her client.

Ciani also referenced an email Kylie sent to executives that said she was so concerned for Rob’s safety that she agreed to film her own show so the network could fill the space that “Rob & Chyna”. She said it shows Kylie not only defamed Chyna, 33, but also influenced Chyna’s contract.

“There’s no reason why she shouldn’t still be on TV, aside from what this family did to her,” Ciani added.

Meanwhile, Kardashian-Jenner attorney Michael Rhodes said in his closing arguments that it was Chyna who was damaging her own reputation, and his clients were actually trying to save the show, offering her to film episodes on “KUWTK” while the falling-out couple tried to work on their relationship.

Rhodes also pointed out that Walter Mosley, Chyna’s former attorney, also testified that he had repeatedly emailed network leaders if they had decided to exercise the Season 2 option by July 31, 2017. The next day, Mosley billed the network for a $100,000 “killing fee,” which Rhodes said was included in Chyna’s amended contract should the network pass on the option.

Rhodes added that the crux of the matter is that Chyna thought the Rob & Chyna show was all her.

“It was about both of them… and it was a bad relationship. It’s not necessarily Mr. Kardashian’s or Ms. White’s fault [Chyna]. For some reason they didn’t work … and there was a point where it got grim, dark and heavy,” Rhodes told the jury.

Rhodes also pointed out that all of the network and production executives who testified during the trial said they weren’t interested in continuing with the show because it became a very toxic relationship and no longer fitted with the network’s vision that Relationships tended to focus on escapism and aspiration, as in Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Chyna is suing the Kardashian-Jenners for $40 million in lost earnings and more than $60 million in future earnings. She claims they used their power to cancel the second season of her reality show starring Rob.

On Thursday, the judge denied Chyna’s request to repeat the witness stand after her 11-hour testimony.

Before the closing arguments, Judge Gregory Alarcon reminded the jury that each defendant should be considered separately for their alleged involvement in blocking a second season of Rob & Chyna.

Earlier in the week, the famous family filed a motion to have the case dismissed.

Deliberations begin Friday at 9 a.m. PT.
