Black Beast season 2: Charlotte Aubin plays a mother who poisons her children

Charlotte Aubin, Mickaël Gouin, Stéphane Jacques and Agathe Ledoux step into the role of members of a family struck by a terrible tragedy in the show’s second season black beastwhich brings back psychiatrist Éliane Sirois, played by Sophie Cadieux, and detective Sergeant Boisvert, played by Martin Dubreuil.

This is not the sequel to the Gémeaux-awarded Best Dramatic Series original, but a brand new story in which Pascale (Charlotte Aubin), a 32-year-old mother, poisons her two children. Madeleine (Agathe Ledoux), 7, survives but her younger brother Henri, 4, dies. Pascale, who has just separated from her partner (Mickaël Gouin), can be seen as a jealous and abandoned woman who wanted revenge. But the portrait is much more complicated than it seems.

Psychiatrist Éliane Sirois (Sophie Cadieux), Detective Sergeant Boisvert (Martin Dubreuil), who returns to work to solve this case, and criminal defense attorney Michelle Simon (Sharon James) team up to understand the inexplicable as we… set out in detail in a press release on Wednesday.

“It is my pleasure to succeed Sophie Deraspe, who produced a great first season, and to adapt the screenplay by Patrick Lowe and Annabelle Poisson. Once again, the authors take up a serious and emotionally charged subject. They force us as viewers to question ourselves on issues that are not so easy to take a stand on. The dialogues are precise and the situations complex. And thanks to the cast we’ve put together, it’s going to be done with great humanity,” said the director.

The second season of Bête Noire, produced by Encore Television, will premiere on Séries Plus in Spring 2024. The first season is available online and as video-on-demand until August 25th. It can also be rented on Vimeo.
