Introduced by Samsung Display with its QD Oled panel (see review of the Philips Envia 34M2C8600), Oled technology on monitors delivers what it promises. In addition to the inherent image quality including infinite contrast and open viewing angles, the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE monitor impresses above all with its unsurpassed responsiveness. This model will delight competitive players who are primarily looking for performance without compromise.

Strong points

  • Picture quality.
  • Native frequency of 240 Hz.
  • Infinite contrast.
  • FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility.
  • Unmatched responsiveness.
  • Remote control.

Weak points

  • Maximum brightness limited in SDR.
  • Settings not possible without remote control (no button on monitor).
  • Low resolution in absolute terms (109 pixels per inch).
  • High consumption.

Note: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices of all retailers in the last month for the product, with safety rules in place to exclude prices from stores whose VAT policy is unclear (so-called “gray ” stores, typically for imports from China).

The Asus TUF VG28UQL1A monitor, with its very demanding Ultra HD resolution and such a small diagonal, is of little interest for exclusive use on a PC. We would recommend a more suitable 32-inch or 27-inch Quad HD model. However, if you want to enjoy the new consoles in 4K 120 Hz VRR via HDMI 2.1, this monitor is simply perfect for you. It is well calibrated and benefits from excellent ergonomics and very good responsiveness.
