BLAME CANADA!: New York Post front page blames country for smog

Humor, cynicism or bullshit? The New York Post titled its Thursday cover story “Blame Canada!” in reference to the smog blanketing the metropolis caused by active Quebec wildfires.

The tabloid is known for its hard-hitting front pages, but Thursday’s might be taking it too far.

“Canada wildfires plunge New York City into a murky, smoky hell,” he wrote on the front page, using the term “Canuck” to refer to Canadians.

“Yes. They should have done more to put out the fires. “Everyone should point their fan towards Canada,” commented a user of the newspaper.

“What aid has the United States sent to Canada?” asked one surfer instead.

“Wow I had to make sure this wasn’t a parody account,” said one Twitter user.

“Wow! Maybe we could have a little compassion for the thousands of people who had to be evacuated and lost their homes,” cried one woman.

“Oh my god, calm down, the New York Post, Canada doesn’t tell the wind where to go,” sighed another netizen.

The newspaper’s front page may actually be a nod to a popular part of the South Park series.
