Scott Cam and Dr. Chris Brown will compete next year when the celebrity veteran stars in his own home renovation show Dream Home.

The 60-year-old Block presenter revealed on Saturday what he really thinks of the hot competition, which will premiere on Channel Seven next year.

Scott playfully threatened the handsome TV host to “stay off my turf,” saying he’s just glad people still want to watch renovation shows, Yahoo Lifestyle reported.

“The competition is healthy and if his show does reasonably well it means people are still interested in this type of television,” he said.

“As soon as they stop watching other shows or our show, that style is gone.”

Scott wished 44-year-old Chris “good luck,” who he says is “a great pal.”

“Obviously we don’t want them to beat us when they compete, but we don’t want them to fail miserably,” he continued.

Dream Home is based on the hit New Zealand series of the same name, which aired from 1999 to 2013.

The DIY show will be Chris’ first project at Seven since joining the station from Channel Ten.

The Reno series is being produced by production company Endemol Shine and will begin filming later this year but will not air until early 2024.

Seven’s last refurbishment programme, House Rules, ended three years ago and channel executives hope the new format will be a success.

Chris, who signed off from Ten’s I’m a Celebrity in May, signed a multi-year deal with Seven in February to produce unspecified “new projects” for the channel.

He first joined Ten in 2008 to host the show Bondi Vet, which became a surprise ratings hit and was broadcast around the world.

The non-fiction series was based on his real-life experiences as a veterinarian at Bondi Junction Veterinary Hospital in Sydney’s east.

He then became a part-time panelist at The Project and was also a co-host of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and The Living Room, which was discontinued last year.
