Marvel Comics announced its next crossover event: Blood Hunt, at New York Comic Con last October. The event, which launches in May, will be written by current Avengers and Moon Knight writer Jed MacKay and illustrated by X-Men artist Pepe Larraz.
“Who Will Bite?” was recently revealed as Blood Hunt's tagline, suggesting that at least some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes will become bloodsuckers as vampires emerge from the shadows like never before.
This has to lead to some sort of Marvel Vampire spin-off, right?
We will see, but in the main limited series, companion editions and spin-off limited series, we will see our favorite heroes helplessly succumb to the dark ways of the creatures of the night while bravely facing their temptations. United with a single vision for the first time in millennia, the overwhelming army of blood-sucking horrors will change the world in their image, turning out the lights across the Marvel Universe.
However, to get them going again, a new world order may need to be created!
Today we would like to introduce you to a brand new cover illustrated by Kael Ngu. Over the years he's lent his talents to a whole host of characters including Daredevil, Deadpool, Ironheart and Spawn, and this might be one of his best covers yet.
In Blade's silhouette we see heroes like Doctor Strange, Tigra, Thor, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch and the new Moon Knight.
“I think vampires are a very fun part of the Marvel universe.” MacKay explained earlier this month. “You can enjoy them superficially, as they add a little spookiness to a book, or you can delve as deeply into the long-running Marvel history of vampires, which is just as in-depth as any other part of it… and the fact that Dracula is there, is a source of endless joy!”
