Bloomberg: Apple plans to launch products by October 31st for iMac and three MacBook Pro models – notebookcheck.biz

As Bloomberg’s oft-informed editor Mark Gurman reports in the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter, Apple is currently preparing to announce four new Macs, expected to launch on October 30th or 31st. It’s not yet clear whether Apple is planning a big live streaming launch event or just a series of press releases.

In any case, it is clear what products customers can expect. According to Gurman, the 24-inch iMac ($1,099 at Amazon) will finally get a successor after the current model based on the M1 launches in April 2021. Just like the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the iMac will get an upgrade to the brand new ARM Apple M3 chip, but not much will change in terms of design and other features.

At the same time, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will be upgraded with the

Apple M3 Pro and M3 Max. Compared to the previous model, the top model will be equipped with twelve performance cores and four efficiency cores as well as a graphics chip with up to 40 computing units, an additional four performance cores and two GPU cores.

Aside from the new processors, there are unlikely to be any major changes to the MacBook Pro, although minor improvements to the mini-LED screen are possible. A new design is not expected until 2026, when devices switch to an OLED display. According to Gurman, Apple is currently developing a 32-inch iMac Pro that is expected to launch in late 2024 or early 2025.
