The players who will start the game with the biggest names from the Manfred Tour were chosen by public vote.

After an initial voting phase, supporters had the opportunity to choose between the two most popular candidates for each position.

Kirk beat the New York Yankees’ Jose Trevino in the ballot for the catcher’s position, receiving 74 percent of the vote. Guerrero (66%) easily took first base in his duel against Seattle Mariners’ Ty France.

Other Jays nominees Bo Bichette, Santiago Espinal, George Springer and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. were not honored Friday. They could still be in the All-Star Game when the league announces the identities of the other selected players on Sunday.

Jose Altuve (Houston Astros), Rafael Devers (Boston Red Sox), Tim Anderson (Chicago White Sox), Giancarlo Stanton (New York Yankees), Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels) will be the USA starting team.

On the National side, the lucky ones are Wilson Contreras (Chicago Cubs), Paul Goldschmidt (St. Louis Cardinals), Jazz Chisholm (Miami Marlins), Manny Machado (San Diego Padres), Joc Pederson (Giants of San Francisco), Bryce Harper ( Philadelphia Phillies), Mookie Betts and Trea Turner (Los Angeles Dodgers).
