Torey Krug doesn’t appear to be in great shape in St. Louis, but an injury he suffered in practice this week further complicates his case.
The Blues defenseman injured his right foot and his condition will be reassessed on October 1, the organization announced in a press release.

It’s another setback for Krug, who missed 19 games last season due to lower-body problems. Still, he finished the campaign with a 32-point haul but a terrible -26 differential.
Therefore, the Blues tried to trade him to the Philadelphia Flyers for center Kevin Hayes in June, but the 32-year-old veteran invoked his no-trade clause. St. Louis still acquired Hayes for a 2024 sixth-round draft pick.
Krug has four years left on his contract, which will pay him an average of $6.5 million per season. The American will certainly want to bounce back after putting up the worst statistics of his career.
