Bob Iger on Disney’s problems: "We have lost focus"

Bob Igerthe boss of Disney, did not deviate from the line during the meeting with investors this Wednesday (8). When asked about the Mickey Mouse House’s belowexpected results in recent months, he responded by pointing out that four of the ten highestgrossing films of 2022 came from the company. The managing director also emphasized that the company will now prioritize quality and not quantity. The information comes from THR.

“When the pandemic hit, we significantly increased the amount of content we produced, and I’ve always felt that quantity can actually be a negative factor in quality. And I think that’s exactly what happened. We lost. “Concentrate a little,” he said.

He continued: “We have great assets and stories to tell from the assets we own or have purchased. And I’m really optimistic about our future portfolio, which will be a mix of very strong sequels to very popular titles and some other quality original content, starting with Wish”.

Concluding his selfcriticism, the CEO says he is confident about the direction the company wants to take in the future. “I am aware that the quality of our performance does not quite meet the standards we have set for ourselves.”
