Bob Sagets widow dismissed claims that the comedian had deteriorated

Bob Saget’s widow denies claims the comedian’s hearing “felt” and he had a “sore throat.”

Bob Saget’s widow has denied claims that her husband was unwell on the night of his death and backed a report in which he concluded he was killed by a fall and a blow to the head.

“The released records tell the whole story — that is, Bob died after a fall and hit his head in his hotel room,” attorney Brian H. Bieber told Page Six Thursday on behalf of Kelly Rizzo.

“Now that the Coroner’s and Police Department records have been released following their respective thorough investigations, the Saget family would value their privacy so that they could grieve in peace.”

Rosalie Cocci, 37, a Ponte Vedra Concert Hall employee who ran errands for performers on the ‘Full House’ cast’s final comedy show, told Orange County, Fla., police she said his hearing was ‘off’ communicated. and that he had a sore throat before taking the stage on January 8th.

Hours later, Saget was found dead in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande.

Coroners believe he fell and injured himself in either his carpeted bedroom or his marble-tiled bathroom

There was no blood in the room or bathroom, and the headboard of his bed was soft, prompting ongoing speculation as to how exactly Saget had managed to injure himself so badly and in a way that ultimately killed him.

“He said his hearing was bad and that was the case that night. He asked the sound guys to turn it all up,” she told investigators, according to interview audio released by investigators Wednesday

‘And [he said] that he had been ill the night before – his hearing was poor and he had a sore throat. He was glad he had lozenges for the stage.’

Cocci said Saget told her he was suffering from “long-term COVID,” which “was taking his body a long time to get over it.”

According to Cocci, “I heard him say, ‘I don’t feel good, but I’m ready for the show. That’s why I’m doing this.” He seemed to be talking up himself.”

But once he got on stage, she told police, the comedian appeared “okay” and “joked” during his two-hour performance.

“He wasn’t sweating, he wasn’t missing a punch, nothing was slurring … he came out very energetically,” she said.

Saget had spoken out about having Covid 19 a few days before his death, telling a podcast: “It’s not good, it doesn’t feel good.”

The next day at around 4 p.m., Saget was found dead in room 963 of the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande. Earlier this week, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department released photos of the room.

According to surveillance video from the hotel, he was last seen alive at 2:17 a.m. on January 9, entering his room on the ninth floor of the hotel, hanging a “do not disturb” sign on the doorknob and locking the door behind him

Saget’s autopsy report confirmed the actor was COVID positive after his death. However, the diagnosis played no role in the actor’s sudden death, according to an autopsy report obtained last month by Dr. Joshua Stephany, the Orange County Coroner.

The report notes that there was “no evidence of acute or chronic inflammation by microscopy.”

“Given the circumstances of death, and after examination of the body, toxicological analysis, microscopic analysis, respiratory pathogen testing, bilateral lung cultures and postmortem CT, I believe the death of Robert Saget, a 65-year-old white male who found unresponsive in a hotel room is the result of blunt head trauma,” the report said.

“It is very likely that the deceased fell backwards unnoticed and hit the back of his head. The manner of death is an accident.’

Authorities have ruled out the possibility of someone else being at fault in his death and believe the 65-year-old died in the early hours of March 9.

Initially, they said they believed the stand-up comic suffered a fatal blow when he banged the back of his head against the headboard of his hotel bed, although medical experts said his injuries were so severe they were from being hit with one could fall baseball bat or 30 feet.

Investigators told People Magazine they believe Saget passed out in the hotel bathroom and fell backwards onto the white marble floor.

At one point, Saget apparently regained consciousness and made his way to the bed, where he passed out a second time and died. His time of death was estimated at around 4 a.m.

Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo appeared on Good Morning America last month to share her grief. She also referenced her late husband’s Covid seizure, downplaying it as “nothing serious”.

She broke down in tears as she said he had no health problems.

“All I’m going to reference is his last post where he said he felt like 26,” she said, referencing his recent Instagram post.
