Bobi, who lived in Conqueiros, a small village near Leiria, “died at the age of 31 years and 165 days,” Guinness World Records said.

Bobi’s peaceful life had been turned upside down since the Guinness Book of World Records was announced on February 1.

He was 30 years and 266 days old when his longevity was confirmed, making him the oldest dog ever.

In the days that followed, he received a number of visits from curious people and media from around the world.

This Rafeiro, a breed of dog that usually has an average life expectancy of between 12 and 14 years, reminiscent of Guinness, lived surrounded by cats in a house in this small village in the center of the country.
