Bodies found in Toronto dumpster: 4-year-old girl identified

A girl’s body has been identified in a Toronto dumpster more than a year after it was found.

Four-year-old Neveah Tucker’s mother was notified Thursday, according to CP24.

“We have a lot to do. “We will continue to work closely with our partners to investigate the circumstances leading up to Neveah’s death and the subsequent disposal of her body,” Homicide detective Hank Idsinga said during a news conference Thursday.

According to the authorities, the girl died in 2021, but the cause of death could not be clarified during the autopsy. Thus, the murder theory is not yet confirmed.

“We do believe that this could potentially lead to a murder case,” added Mr. Idsinga.

Police confirmed that the child’s identity was confirmed through genetic genealogy, which uses DNA testing to identify genetic links between different people.

“The interface between genetic genealogy and investigative work has emerged [d’un tuyau d’un citoyen] was a bit on a collision course. So they got along well with each other. So a lot of work went both ways and we got where we are today,” the investigator said.
