The girl did not return home after school on Friday, after which she was reported missing. Six suspects were arrested.
Cruel discovery in Paris: The body of a missing girl was found in a suitcase in the French capital. According to the Public Ministry, the suitcase was discovered by a homeless person on Friday night, around 11 pm, at the home of 12-year-old Lola. According to investigators, six suspects were arrested on Saturday.
The girl’s father was reportedly worried because the 12-year-old girl had not returned from school on Friday afternoon. He alerted his wife, who went to the police and reported her daughter’s disappearance.
murder investigation initiated
The girl’s mother posted an appeal for witnesses on Facebook, which included two photos of her daughter. One photo showed the blonde girl smiling, the other apparently showed footage from a surveillance camera. Her daughter was “last seen at 3:20pm” at her home and accompanied by a girl “whom we don’t know”, her mother wrote.
According to the Public Ministry, a murder investigation has been launched. According to people close to her, surveillance cameras recorded the girl entering the ten-story building after school. After that, he disappeared, they said.
The suitcase was found in the courtyard of the house where the girl’s family lives and the father works as a janitor, according to investigators. The twelve-year-old boy’s body was therefore covered with towels. Next to the suitcase with the dismembered corpse were two smaller suitcases.
Candles and flowers in front of the house
According to investigators, three suspects were arrested near the scene overnight. A fourth suspect was arrested in Bois-Colombes, northwest of Paris, on Saturday morning. All four were taken into police custody, the prosecutor said. Two more arrests were made in the afternoon.
The ten-story house the family lives in is in a neighborhood in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, which contains both residential buildings and shops. In front of the house, people lit candles and placed flowers and cards. Psychological help must be offered to students at the school the girl attended from Monday morning.
